Functions
Taber is a community of 9,200 residents that is largely involved in the agriculture and resource industries. The Taber Police Service is comprised of 18 sworn officers and 10 civilian support staff who provide community policing services within the Town of Taber.
Services
The Taber Police Service Office houses a regional 9-1-1 Emergency Dispatch Centre for Police, Fire, and Emergency Medical Services. The service is governed by a civilian police commission and relies on community partnerships and a large volunteer component in building community capacity. Support for victims of crime and or trauma is also provided by the Victim Service Unit (see under + Services). Police officers notify victims that the Taber Police Service Victim Service Unit will conduct a follow up to offer supports available.
