Our facilities are non-smoking facilities, smoking is not permitted in the Town’s facilities, including but not limited to cigarettes, e- cigarettes and vaping devices.

It is the responsibility of the participant to arrange for and provide their own Support Worker/Aide for users with disabilities, if needed. Although there are no admission or registration fees for Support Workers to attend programs with a paying customer, there are expectations for Support Workers / Aides.

Breastfeeding is an acceptable practice in our facilities. Women may breastfeed where they feel most comfortable. If a woman wishes to breastfeed in private, staff will assist her in finding space.

• Children under 8 must be within arms reach of a responsible person 16 years or older.
• Proper bathing attire is required.
• All patrons must take a cleansing shower before entering the pool area.
• No street shoes may be worn in the shower areas or on the pool deck (including ramp)
• Only single riders are allowed on the waterslide.
• Locker keys or other hard objects are not permitted on the waterslide.
• Glass is not allowed on the pool deck on other barefoot areas.
• Patrons may not be intoxicated while using the facility.
• Persons on medication for high blood pressure, heart conditions or other medical conditions must consult with a physician prior to use of whirlpool, steam room and sauna.
• No pets allowed onto the premises, except for Seeing Eye dogs or other animals used to assist persons with disabilities.
• Maximum bather load : 216 swimmers as per pool standards
• Pool depth varies. No diving except for the deep end of the lap pool.
• Time in the whirlpool, sauna and steam room is limited to 10 minutes due to the high temperatures these areas are maintained at.
• Any person with diarrhea or a history of diarrhea over the previous 2 weeks must not se the pool facility
• People with communicable diseases or infection are not permitted.

Mermaid tails may be used with permission from the lifeguard. A competency test may be required prior to approval.

Use of snorkel equipment (goggles and snorkel) is allowed, pending Lifeguard approval, and demonstrated proof of competency.

No glass goggles. 

Children under eight years must be accompanied by a responsible person (minimum 16 years of age). The responsible person must be in the water and within arm’s reach of their ward while at our facility.

• All children under the age of 8 must be directly supervised, in the water and within arm’s reach at all times
• The guidelines for ratio’s will be as followed:
           -Up to two children under the age of 3 years of age;
           -Up to four children ages 4 or 5 years of age: or,
           -Up to eight children ages 6 to 7 years of age.

Young children 35 months (approximately three years) and under and anyone who is incontinent must wear protective, water resistant swimwear in order to minimize the introduction of contamination.

Use of cell phones, Personal Digital Assistants, cameras, and other recording devices is restricted in our facilities.

The use of recording devices (including but not limited to cell phones, personal digital assistants (PDAs), cameras, laptops and tablets) are permitted in the Town of Taber’s facilities except for specific locations and circumstances.

Patrons are encouraged to ask a staff member for permission before taking any photos or videos in a Taber recreation facility. Respect for people’s privacy is a priority.

When using a recording device, only record people that you are acquainted with to respect the privacy of others.

If you are suspicious that someone is using recording devices inappropriately, please notify staff immediately.

Recording devices are not permitted in/at:

•           Change Rooms/Washrooms/Locker Rooms/Dressing Rooms: Please turn off and store your personal recording devices in these private areas. Taking pictures within change rooms or washrooms is illegal. This also extends to private areas designated for staff.

•           Cash Counters/Front Desks: For security reasons and to protect the personal information of patrons, the use of recording devices in cash-handling areas is prohibited.

•           Medical Emergencies: To protect the privacy of patrons and staff, the use of recording devices during a First Aid event or a medical emergency is prohibited.

Recording devices are permitted in/at:

•           Aquafun Centre: Viewing areas, pool deck, and amenities

•           Arenas: Viewing areas, stands, and on the ice

•           Common Areas: Atriums, lobbies, meeting rooms, and public office areas

•           Auditorium

Use of recording devices only permitted with staff approval:

•           Underwater Recording in Aquatic Centres: Permission to use recording devices underwater must come from an aquatic staff member.

•           Town of Taber Staff and Volunteers: Recording of staff and volunteers in any public spaces, sites, or work areas is only permitted with permission.
