We want to ensure our residents are prepared in case postal services are interrupted for a while, which may impact various services the Town provides.
Utility Bills
While Taber utility bills are typically sent at the start of the month, we are providing information now to help you stay informed about your options for receiving and paying your bill in case the strike lasts into December.
Options for receiving your utility bill:
- Sign up for e-billing: Receive your utility bill directly in your email inbox. You can sign up online by visiting www.taber.ca/ebilling.
- Pick up your bill in person: Visit the Town of Taber Administration Office (4900A 50 Street) during business hours, Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Request an email copy: Contact our Utilities Clerk by phone at 403-223-5500 ext. 6002 or email utilities@taber.ca to have your bill sent to you via email.
Options for paying your utility bill:
- Sign up for the Pre-Authorized Payment Plan: Your utility bill can be automatically paid from your account every month. Contact our Utilities Clerk to sign up: 403-223-5500 ext 6002 or utilites@taber.ca
- Pay in person: Payments can be made at the Administration Office (4900A 50 Street) by cash, debit, credit, or cheque. After hours, we also have our drop-box outside the main doors (make sure to place your payment inside the Town of Taber's box, not the MD of Taber's).
- Pay through your bank: Payments can be made either in person at your bank or online.
Reminder: Please avoid mailing payments during a postal strike to ensure they arrive on time.
Planning & Development Notices
For any notices required under the Municipal Government Act (MGA) or Land Use Bylaw (LUB)—like Subdivision approvals outside an Area Structure Plan or Public Hearing notices—we may hand-deliver or use a courier service when mailing is not possible.
In some rare cases (notification outside town limits that couriers cannot reach) we may contact by phone or email.
The Town may also use any other reasonable alternative to provide notification when the aforementioned methods can not be reasonably completed.
We’re committed to ensuring timely delivery of all required notifications during this time. Thank you for your patience as we navigate these challenges. If you have questions about development notifications, please contact planning@taber.ca.
