Taber Economic Development LocalIntel and BizPal Tools Launched

Taber Economic Development is excited to announce the launch of two new web-based tools to promote local economic development.

A new economic development microsite containing information relevant for new and existing businesses in Taber has been launched, as well as a new service to provide information about permits and licenses that may be required when starting or expanding a business in Taber.

“The new microsite adds to Taber Economic Development’s existing web-based tools and aims to provide current and relevant information about our local market, including details about industry trends, land uses, the local workforce as well as customer and competition analysis,” says Andrew Malcolm, Director of Planning & Economic Development. “It will enable existing businesses, site selectors and entrepreneurs access to relevant and up to date data to support their business plans and vision in Taber.”

This microsite was developed by a leading Canadian technology firm LocalIntel, which has launched similar sites for Calgary Economic Development, the City of Airdrie, and the Town of Drumheller. To access the new microsite, go to https://taber.ecdev.org/

Taber Economic Development also partnered with the Government of Alberta to add Taber to their online permitting and licensing information service – BizPal. This provincial database gives entrepreneurs and business owners a single point of contact to find out what permits and licenses are needed from all levels of government to start or grow their business. To access BizPal, go to www.servicealberta.ca/bizpal.cfm

“These new tools will benefit anyone who wishes to set up a business in our community,” said Mayor Andrew Prokop, “Taber is a very proactive community and always open for business, and we look forward to companies using these new tools to help them grow in our community.”

Both of these new user-friendly tools complement Taber Economic Development’s existing economic and community web materials and can be accessed at the direct links above or through links on www.GrowinginTaber.ca and www.Taber.ca.
